It gives me great pleasure to convey my heartfelt appreciation to the GoGreen Club of NIT Jamshedpur. At a time when humanity is facing the unprecedented challenge of climate change, the need for awareness, action, and innovation has never been greater.
The GoGreen Club unites the bright young minds of NIT Jamshedpur to build awareness on global climate change, the conservation of resources, and the importance of living in harmony with nature. I hope the club continues to inspire our community to rethink how humanity connects with the environment and to show that even the smallest lifestyle changes can make a big difference in creating a sustainable future. By channeling the creativity and enthusiasm of our students, the club is cultivating a culture of responsibility that extends far beyond the classroom.
I am proud to share that NIT Jamshedpur was recently honoured with the Circular Campus Award by the International Council of Circular Economy, a recognition of our collective sustainability efforts. Among these, the GoGreen Club’s Plastic Recycling Campaign has been especially impactful, demonstrating how student-led initiatives can directly contribute to institutional achievements.
It is my sincere hope that the GoGreen Club will continue to educate, inspire, and mobilize our community in the fight against climate change, while also showcasing how youth-led initiatives can create meaningful and lasting change. Together, let us strengthen our commitment to building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable society.
With best wishes and encouragement,

Message from Advisor of GoGreen Club
Mr. Maun Prakash, IFS
Divisional Manager (DM)
Jharkhand State Forest Development Corporation (JSFDC)
It is very heartening to see the creation of GoGreen club at NIT Jamshedpur to promote cleaner and greener ways of living and to help reduce the carbon footprint of people in and around the campus to begin with.
I hope that GoGreen club will play a major role in making our empowered engineering community to be more aware about the state of our environment, ecosystems and climate. I wish this initiative grows to the heights of inspiring such initiatives in other engineering colleges across the country .
I am sure that the GoGreen Club will bring back the society closer to its life support systems which has increasingly grown away from them.
Climate change , habitat loss, declining population of pollinators, urban pollution, water pollution and declining water tables and soil pollution are some of the burning issues the society has to deal with and Go green club will help in fighting with these challenges through awareness and technology. I wish the club promotes and inspire engineering community at NIT Jamshedpur to develop Green Technologies to fight these challenges and to promote sustainable ways of living.
My Best Wishes to Team GoGreen !

About NIT Jamshedpur
National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur was established as Regional Institute of Technology in 1960. Later, in December 2002 it was upgraded to National Institute of Technology with the status of Autonomous Institute under the aegis of Institute of National Importance, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi (by an Act of Parliament namely, the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007).
In the backdrop of forest-covered low hill beneath which the flowing river Kharkai makes the Institute a suitable place for overall development of the students. The institute consists of 12 departments and offers B.Tech., M.Sc., M.C.A., M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees in various disciplines of Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. The Institute, with 200 faculty, 4000 students, 150 administrative and supporting staff, is a self-contained campus. It is located on the outskirts of Jamshedpur on 341.3 acres of sprawling, rolling hilly, wooded land. It combines natural beauty of countryside with urban glamour of an industrial area. The courses have been completely restructured and prepared as per the needs of society and industries. There is refreshing development on every front. The institute has achieved impressive placement for its students, with top industrial houses and software companies recruiting the students in large numbers.
