🌍🔄 Update on Recyclable Plastic Collection 🔄🌍
We're happy to share that we have submitted 31.5 kgs of the collected recyclable plastics at TATA Steel UISL RRR center on 13 December 2023, which is equivalent to the weight of 31,500 1 L empty plastic water bottles.
We also would like to give an update about 🌟 Expanded Collection Points 🌟 within the NIT Jamshedpur campus. You can now drop off your recyclable plastics in the bins mentioned at the following locations:

2. [Near LHC Parking]
3. [Near Parking at Admin Building]
4. [Near RLB Hostel]
5. [Near E-Type Quarters]
6. [Near Mega Mess]
7. [Near C-Type Quarters]
8. [Near D-Type Quarters]
We urge all the students, faculty & staff to take a little step towards sustainable solutions by dropping the recyclable plastics into the specially made steel bins on campus in the above locations.

We are absolutely enlightened to share that we have submitted 55 kgs of the collected recyclable plastics at TATA Steel UISL RRR center on 7 October 2023, which is equivalent to the weight of 55,000 1 L empty plastic water bottles. Special Thanks to Mr. Manoj Singh Shekawat, Chief Divisional Manager, TATA Steel UISL for facilitating the service of plastic collection at the RRR center and supporting us in this journey.

The Plastic Recycle Campaign under Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign was started by the honorable Director Prof. Goutam Sutradhar at 10 AM on 1 October 2023 (Sunday) in the presence of team Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) of NIT Jamshedpur. Later the team members collected the recyclable plastics from residences, hostel messes, and bins specially made for plastic collection. Approximately 50 kg s of recyclable plastic has been collected, and all the collected plastic items in this campaign will be sent for recycling at RRR Centers of TATA Steel UISL in Jamshedpur city very soon.

In this connection, we plan to initiate a 'Plastic Recycling Campaign' on our campus. In this campaign, GoGreen Club volunteers will provide a bag to residential houses, offices, etc., and collect the recyclable plastics every 15 days once. All the collected plastic items will be submitted every month at Reduce Reuse Recycle (RRR) centers started by TATA Steel UISL.

We have embarked on the journey of the 'Plastic Recycle Campaign' with the first step today. Our team has collected Recyclable used plastic items from residences & hostel messes on campus.
We have collected 18 kg of recyclable plastic items. However, the number looks small because of the low density of plastic items, its weight is almost equivalent to the weight of 1000 empty 1L plastic water bottles. We are happy to announce that amount of plastic is stopped from mixing up with the Environment and we'll soon send it to the RRR center.

🌍🔄 Update on Recyclable Plastic Collection 🔄🌍
We're happy to share that today's (23 September 2023) collection of plastic is 17.3 Kgs in addition to last week's collection of 18 kg (Total 35.3 Kgs). We also would like to give an update about our ongoing efforts to promote plastic recycling within NIT Jamshedpur community.

We have expanded our collection points for recyclable plastics to make it even more convenient for you to participate. You can now drop off your recyclable plastics in the bins mentioned at the following locations:

Note: The bins for the collection of recyclable plastic were made from the steel tanks thrown as scrap and they were modified by the P&D Team. Thanks and Kudos to our P&D Team.
